Everything You need to know about the G1000 Auto Pilot

The terrain avoidance feature is NOT intended to be used as a primary reference for terrain avoidance and does not relieve the pilot from the responsibility of being aware of surroundings during flight.

Terrain data is obtained from third party sources. Always refer to current aeronautical charts for appropriate minimum clearance altitudes. GPS altitude should never be used for vertical navigation. Pilots using any outdated database do so entirely at their own risk.

Pilots must maneuver the aircraft based only upon ATC guidance or positive visual acquisition of conflicting traffic.Garmin G Manual. Have a look at the manual Garmin G Manual online for free. E-mail address. Remember login. Login or create new account. Add to Favourites. View all the pages.

Both GPS receivers are still functioning properly, but one receiver is performing better than the other at that particular time. While the aircraft is on the ground, the SBAS signal may be blocked by obstructions causing one GPS receiver to have difficulty acquiring a good signal.

If the sensor annunciation persists, check for a system failure message in the Messages Window on the PFD. Discrepancies may indicate a problem. Add page 43 to Favourites. Add page 44 to Favourites. Satellites whose signals are currently being used are represented by solid ovals. EPU is a statistical error indication and not an actual error measurement. DOP measures satellite geometry quality i. The current calculated GPS position, time, altitude, ground speed, and track for the aircraft are displayed below the satellite signal accuracy measurements.

When the receiver is in the process of acquiring enough satellite signals for navigation, the receiver uses satellite orbital data collected continuously from the satellites and last known position to determine the satellites that should be in view. When the receiver is in the process of acquiring a 3D differential GPS solution, 3D NAV is indicated as the solution until the 3D differential fix has finished acquisition.

However, in some cases, the selected approach may be outside the SBAS coverage area and it may be necessary to perform a RAIM prediction for the intended approach. Also See for G Manual - pages Pilot's manual - pages System maintenance manual - pages. It is an all-glass fight deck that presents flight instrumentation, location, navigation, communication, and identification data on large-format, high-resolution displays. This approach classification allows stabilized descent using vertical guidance without the accuracy required for traditional precision approach procedures. Page 9 5. The system uses Secure Digital SD cards to load and store various types of data. For basic flight operations, SD cards are required for database storage as well as Jeppesen navigation and ChartView database updates.

Not all SD cards are compatible with the G Use only SD cards supplied by Garmin or the aircraft manufacturer. Otherwise, data corruption can occur. Go to FlyGarmin. The ChartView database is updated on a day cycle. If the ChartView database is not updated within 70 days of the expiration date, ChartView will no longer function.

Both of these databases are provided directly from Jeppesen. The navigation database must be installed from the Jeppesen or user supplied SD data card. Contact Jeppesen www. NOTE: After the navigation database is installed, the card may be removed.

Figure B-2 Database Update Confirmation 5 After the update completes, the display starts in normal mode. Do not remove power while the display is starting. Remove the SD card when finished. If the user responds affirmatively, the system will copy the navigation database from the top SD card to the bottom SD card. The system checks the active and standby databases upon on-ground only power-up.

Uploading the standby database to the active location takes approximately seconds. Also See for G Manual - pages Pilot's manual - pages System maintenance manual - pages. Page of Go. Quick Links. Attitude and heading information are updated on the PFD while the AHRS receives appropriate combinations of information from the external sensor inputs. Messages generated while the window is open are not automatically displayed, but cause the MSG Softkey to begin flashing again. Critical values generated by redundant sensors are monitored by comparators. These annunciations reflect reversionary sensors selected on one or both PFDs.
